التاريخ
استخدمت Microsoft تنسيق DOC من Word 97 حتى Word 2003. كان الهندسة العكسية لبنيته الثنائية تحدياً للمنافسين — وهو ما دفع جزئياً لتبني معيار XML المفتوح (OOXML).
